Master of Science in Molecular Medicine

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

  1. Graduate of any of the following degrees:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science with the following subjects:
    • 25 units of Life Sciences
    • 8 units of Mathematics
    • 5 units of Physics
  • Doctor of Medicine
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
  • Doctor of Dentistry

2. NMAT (National Medical Admission Test)  taken within two (2) years prior to the application period.

Not required for Doctor of Medicine (MD) graduates.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Download the MS Molecular Medicine Application Form and Recommendation Forms here.
  2. Pay the processing fee (see below).
  3. Upon payment verification, upload the accomplishment application form and documents.
  4. Upload essay (at least 500 words; Arial, Font size 12, 1.5 spacing)
    (a) Why do you want to take this program;
    (b) How could it benefit you;
    (c) Potential area of interest of your thesis.
  5. Submit the hard copies of the application and documents to the Registrar’s Office personally or by courier. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Birth Certificate
    Issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for Local applicants
  2. Marriage Certificate (for married female applicants using a name other than that indicated in the Birth Certificate)
  3. Two (2) copies of 2×2 recent colored photograph with white background
  4. Proof of Graduation/Diploma
  5. Official Transcript of Records (certified true copy)
  6. Certificate of Good Moral Character or Good Standing from the former college or training institution.
  7. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation – The recommendations should come from two (2) former professors or if employed, one (1) from an immediate supervisor and one (1) from a former professor
  8. Return Service Agreement (RSA) completion, if applicable

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS for FOREIGN and FOREIGN GRADUATE APPLICANTS

  1. The Transcript of Records, Certificate of Graduation and Birth Certificate duly Apostilled in the applicant’s country of legal residence or origin.
  2. Photocopies of Passport pages where name, photo, birth date and birthplace appear date and birthplace appear.
  3. Police Clearance Certificate issued by the National Police authorities and duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP) in the students’ country of origin. Those who have stayed in the Philippines for more than six (6) months must submit a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance.
  4. Non-resident aliens must submit a student visa (9f) issued by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration.
  5. Resident aliens must submit the Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and Immigrant Certificate of Residence.

PROCESSING FEES

The following are the processing fees:

  • Local Applicants PhP 3,500.00
  • Foreign Applicants USD 350.00

ACCEPTANCE

The Official List of Accepted Students shall be available on the SLMCCM website and posted on the bulletin board of the Registrar’s Office. Successful applicants will also be notified via email, which will include their acceptance letter and enrollment procedures. Once accepted, students must submit the signed Acceptance Letter to the Registrar’s Office.

APPLICATION PERIOD FOR AY 2026-2027

The application period for MS Molecular Medicine Program is until May 31, 2026.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

  1. The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) offers SCHOLARSHIPS to qualified students that have been accepted in the program. Interested applicants should inquire with the Program Director.
  2. THESIS GRANTS are available to students whose approved theses are aligned with the research programs of St. Luke’s Medical Center, upon the recommendation of the Institutional Scientific Review Committee, and subject to the approval of the President and CEO.
