Financial Grants and Aid

The St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine (SLMCCM) offers scholarships and financial assistance through two categories of support to help qualified and deserving students pursue medical education, recognizing both academic excellence and need for financial support. These programs reflect the College’s commitment to equity, excellence, and service, and aim to ensure that financial circumstances do not hinder a student’s aspiration to pursue their medical education.

The College offers the following categories of scholarships and financial assistance:

1. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

The Academic Achievement Scholarship Program is intended for students with outstanding academic backgrounds and validated financial need who have been accepted into the Doctor of Medicine program. The program aims to support scholars as they pursue medical education and aspire to become competent, compassionate, and service-oriented leaders in the field of medicine.

Academic Achievement Scholarships may be awarded to enrolled students who:

  • Graduated with Latin honors (Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude);
  • Obtained a National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) score of 95 or higher; and
  • Confirmed financial need that affects their ability to pursue medical education at SLMCCM.

The Academic Achievement Scholarship is open only to students entering Year Level 1 of the MD program.

Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent year levels is subject to:

  • Compliance with the required General Weighted Average (GWA) set by the College; and
  • Successful annual review and evaluation by the Scholarship Committee.

2. SLMC FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP GRANT PROGRAM

The SLMC Foundation Scholarship Grant Program provides financial assistance to students who have been accepted into the Doctor of Medicine program of SLMCCM with validated financial need to support their medical education. This program serves as an additional pathway of support for students whose circumstances warrant financial assistance, in alignment with the College’s mission and values.

The SLMC Financial Grant Program, with the generous contributions of its patrons and donors, is intended to help students continue their medical education while upholding the standards of academic excellence and service.
