CIVATAS for, with, and by the Community

CIVITAS is a student advocacy summit by Batch 2024 that features community-level initiatives, which tackle issues brought by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a discussion on misidentification experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community.

Meet your advocacy speakers:

Bagong Gawi Para sa Bagong Normal disseminates relevant information through social media infographics. The discussion will be led by Isabella Gem S. Kaw and Katrina T. Feliciano, founder and co-founder, and publicity heads of the Bagong Gawi program.

Community Pantries: Animating equitability, bayanihan, and socialism, will be headed by Petreyna Grace P. Macute, organizer of the Dipolog Community Pantry.

Bahaghari, a discussion that aims to address the persistent misidentification experienced by the LGBTQIA+, will be led by Marc Daryl B. Yara, former photographer and videographer of UP Pride March and alumnus of the UP Broadcasters’ Guild; Clayvon J. Pascua, former head (2020-2021) and associate head (2019-2020) of SAGIP-Bayan Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights including HIV and AIDS (SCORA); and Paolo Victor G. Pangilinan, ambassador of Love Yourself, actor in ‘Gaya sa Pelikula’, member of AIESEC UPD, and Research Intern.
