September 3, 2025 – The St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial (SLMCCM – WHQM) held an inspiring Clerks and Interns Assembly that was a blend of recognition, celebration, and deep professional discourse.

The day began with a proud awarding ceremony to honor the exceptional achievements of the SLMCCM – WHQM Class of 2025. The ceremony was led by Dean and Chief Academic Officer, Maria Isabel M. Atienza MD, MHPEd, alongside esteemed guests: Mr. Teddy Kingsu (SLMCCM Board of Trustees), Ms. Sheila Kingsu, Mr. Ernie Garilao (Angelo King Foundation Chairman), and Mr. Paul Jeremy Lumpias.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the following awardees for their stellar accomplishments:

Dr. Michael Hendrick Redondo Cabotage: Recipient of the prestigious Quasha Award and the Robert F. Kuan Scholarship for Leadership Award
Dr. Beatrice Hope Go Reyes: Honored with the Jose Ledesma Scholarship for Academic Excellence Award
Dr. Carmela Felicia Daez Umpangco: Recognized with the Bishop Manuel Lumpias Award for Passion and Spirit

Following the celebration of excellence, the assembly transitioned into a powerful and thought-provoking live discussion titled Heart of the Matter – More than just an extra chromosome.

Hosted by Dr. Mary Joan Ledesma – Millonada, the session featured brilliant insights from Medical Clerks Mar Julius H. Gomez and Louise Dominique O. Palisoc. They were joined by special guests and reactors: Dr. Francis Xavier Daniel Dimalanta and Ms. Michelle Ressa – Aventejado, Executive Director of Best Buddies Philippines, who collectively led a truly meaningful conversation that enriched the perspectives of our future doctors.
