Dr. Pacifico Calderon is one of the Bayanihan Awardees at the Australia Alumni Excellence Awards 2022

| June 3, 2022

Dr. Pacifico Eric “Cocoy” E. Calderon is one of the Bayanihan Awardees at the Australia Alumni Excellence Awards 2022 held last June 2, 2022.

He is being recognized for his leadership, innovation, and contribution in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic which has promoted recovery and fostered resilience in his immediate community as well as throughout the Philippines. He provided ethics support and guidance to healthcare workers during the pandemic via industry-hosted workshops, webinars, and talks of nationwide reach. More so, he contributed to the discussion on the ethics of telemedicine and duty of care. And not only did he promote innovations in medical ethics education, but he also engaged the public particularly patients in ethical discussions.

Dr. Calderon: “The pandemic has highlighted that we, Filipinos, can unite in terms of rejecting social oppression by feeding the hungry, uplifting up the low-spirited, defending our rights, and nurturing our senses of creativity and generosity during a crisis. Our many methods of Bayanihan reinforce our culture and values where we come to realize that our national sense of self-preservation rests on our collective care for one another.”

Congratulations Dr. Cocoy! Your SLMCCM family is proud of you!
